Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson coasts to easy victory in primary

The competition for Jackson’s opponent in November was too close to call. Political newcomer Robert Kilo trailed former City Councilman Bill Patmon by little more than 100 votes.

Jeffrey Johnson, Zack Reed, Brian Cummins gain spots on Cleveland City Council ballot; Joe Santiago falls short

Johnson had his political career re-energized by voters. He earned the most votes in the race for Ward 8. The former councilman and state senator, whose career was derailed 11 years ago by a federal extortion conviction, was trailed closely by Councilwoman Shari Cloud, who was appointed to the Glenville-area seat four months ago.

I’ve extended this same offer to other Ward 14 council-seat candidates, but still haven’t heard back from any of them.

The interview is in five parts, and certainly worth 45 minutes of your time, especially if you live in Cleveland or in Ward 14.
